Greece’s capital controls have now been eased further with the raising of the monthly cash withdrawal limit to €1800. The changes, which provide a little more flexibility for Greek bank account holders, came into effect last week, after the measures were passed in Parliament last month.
Previously, the limit was €840 per fortnight, so the new controls allow for an extra €140 in withdrawals over a four week period. Account holders can now withdraw the entire €1800 sum in one or more transactions each month.
Additionally, sums transferred to a bank account from abroad from September 1, 2017 can now be taken out of the country once again in full, however only half can be withdrawn as cash.
