WHAT: Encounter the dynamic statement art of Greek-New Yorker Lydia Venieri with her new exhibition “Love Tale” and meet the artist herself at one of Kolonaki’s most interesting gallery spaces.
The i-D ProjectArt is no ordinary gallery, but an experience within an experience, housed as it is within the high-aesthetic retail environment of Kolonaki’s flagship i-D Concept Store – an Athens pioneer of the “slow shopping” movement.
In “Love Tale”, (curated by Maria Xanthakou), Lydia Venieri is inspired by the magic of love and she presents a series of images that describe and decrypt different moments of emotions. Her “cards”, use the language of the subconscious and lead us to contemplate more obscure sides of the soul.
By exploring the game of opposites enclosed within all of us, Venieri invites us to bridle our positive and negative personas and move on to our higher selves.
“The highest form of intelligence is love,” says Venieri, who will attend the opening night event.
WHEN: Exhibition opens Monday 22 May at 8pm. Duration of exhibition until July 15 (Opening hours: Monday – Saturday 10:00 – 9:00).
WHERE: 12 Kanari & Sekeri Street, Kolonaki, tel: 210. 322.1801.
